No fancy clothes for New Year’s eve for me either. When my husband used to hunt, he would leave on New Year’s eve in the morning and come back 2 days later, so I was alone. When I worked in San Francisco in the 60s, the company invited us for a “formal” dinner and dance at the Fairmont. Each person received a New Year’s card with a $100 bill. It was fun then to dress up and the gift was appreciated – and that is so long ago now. It’s nice to look at all the shops on Rodeo Drive though and imagine brilliant parties. Have a great 2014!
