Mysterious Maps

botanical-garden 1
Here's a perfectly nice map of the Matthaei Botanical Garden near the point where you enter the woods.
Note that West (Dixboro Road) is at the top.

After you have walked for a while, you find another map. They must want to mess with your head --
this map is reversed from the first one. You can see that West/Dixboro Road is at the bottom.
We had a very nice walk in the gardens again on a beautiful morning this week. I just wonder who designed those maps!

I love Matthei and haven't been there in ages. I like the photos of the maps!

Ah - those maps. We recently visited Singapore. My partner is the map reader and loves to visit all the sights. On a walk around the park, we must have doubled back kilometres as he was following the signs in numerical order - you know #1, # 2.... but the numbers were'nt actually in order!! Still a very pleasant walk in the park. Love that photo of the seed head. Beautiful.

Sometimes maps are difficult to understand. My eldest daughter, who always gets lost, uses an “app” on her telephone, a GPS for walking, a vocal guide. Lately I have not walked very much because my knees are getting worse and I can’t see an operation for at least a year, so walking is at a minimum. I love your last picture, it is stunning.
